Cydle to offer new devices at CES 2010

CES 2010 is the launchpad for many companies where new products are concerned, and Cydle isn’t going to miss out on the party next January by offering to unveil the first portable GPS with built-in HD Radio and free HD live traffic updates in the world. The Korea-based company hopes that their portable GPS system will turn any vehicle into a haven, even if it is a bone shaker, offering the driver with various options to get to their destination accurately within the routes selected, or keeping the kids in the back seat entertained while one’s family is on a long road trip in order to avoid the dreaded repetitious question, “Are we there yet?”

Printbrush, The World’s Smallest Mobile Printer

Printbrush is a handheld printer that remembers its positional coordinates when it is placed on a sheet of paper. As you wave your hand across the page, Printbrush deposits ink on the page in 600 DPI. Printbrush is flexible enough to print on any flat surface including fabric.

Samsung Monitor Equipped with TV Tuner

Get the popcorn ready. Samsung’s 27″ P2770HD Monitor comes with a bonus. The full HD display with a 5ms response time and 50,000:1 contrast ratio features a TV tuner and HDMI input for connecting to other devices. Also included are 3W stereo speakers and PIP mode. The monitor will be sold in Korea first for KW 549,000 (~$473.00) before making it elsewhere.

MoGo Talk for iPhone unveiled

So you’re extremely happy with your new iPhone 3GS, and are actively searching for means and ways to enhance your iPhone experience regardless of where you are. Newton Peripherals could have the answer, where they will lend their expertise in integrated mobile peripherals to come up with the new MoGo Talk for the iPhone. Just in case you were wondering what a contraption known as MoGo Talk for iPhone is, this is touted to be the first ultra-thin integrated Bluetooth headset in the world, measuring no thicker than 5mm while being stored on the back of your iPhone. In addition, it will also have its batteries charged up in the process, giving users the convenience of a charged headset at all times. This has led me to think though, won’t charging the MoGo Talk sip even more juice from your iPhone’s battery, which leaves you with less battery than before to carry out conversations? Well, at least we do know the MoGo Talk’s minimalist design will allow one to fold the headset flat easily, snapping it in and out of its protective case in a jiffy.

Radio-Controlled Feed Boat

Love fishing but seem to be lacking the X-factor that allows you to land the right catch every single time? Perhaps the Radio-Controlled Feed Boat might be able to help you out, coupled with a sonar sensor, tipper for 4.4 lbs of bait, an underwater LED light and a range of up to 948 feet.
This Radio-Controlled Feed Boat will bring your bait and floaters to places that can’t even be reached with the best casting technique. Up to 300m (984ft) from your location. The one-hand control is easy to operate and will take the agile electric boat to the exact spot where the fish are – tracked by the built-in sonar sensor. The 5.3 x 5.4cm (2″ x 2 1⁄10″) display on the remote-control will show you where to find the fish and at which depth the shoal is moving (up to 30m /98ft in 2m/6ft5” units). In addition it will indicate the water temperature (0-40°C) and the absolute water depth as well as all boat movements and activities. The tipper discharges up to 2kg (4.4 lbs) of bait at the touch of a button. Along with your hook bait, too, if you wish.
The Radio-Controlled Feed Boat will be equipped with a couple of powerful jet motors from the 540 Series that are located within the hull, allowing you to navigate safely through severely overgrown waters, making short work of algae and twining plants. Powered by a quartet of AAA batteries that last up to 3 hours, the Radio-Controlled Feed Boat can be yours for £435.

Philips develops roadside drug test

One quick blow on a device and cops can find out just how much alcohol you’ve consumed. Sadly though, so far they haven’t had a roadside way to test for drugs. Which means cops have to drag in people that they suspect to be using drugs. Well that will be changing at some point in the somewhat near future. Instead of dragging people down to the station for a test, Philips has a test they’ve developed to help cops out on the side of the road.

Scamander RRV can go just about anywhere

Before he died, Peter Wheeler wanted the ultimate car - one that would not only go fast, but go anywhere. And by anywhere, he meant ANYWHERE. Over land, over water, over just about anything. The end of the day, he had the
Scamander

The Cube Concept Car

This isn’t the first time that we have reported on concept automobiles of the future. Most of them aren’t really what comes to mind when we think of a car, as they tend to be small one-manned drones.
The Cube is nothing different, but I admire Carlos Mendez’s vision for cars. Mendez noticed that most cars are way too large and heavy compared to their driver, so he set out to create a “vehicle designed more to a human scale”.
What makes the Cube unique is that the user determines what it will look like and alters it according to his or her needs. Think of the base as something like a Lego car, and it is up to the user to add the roll bars, windshield, roof, or a bed for hauling stuff.
Mendez’s Cube is also environmentally sound as it is completely electrical powered. I’m guessing that mass-production of the Cube would probably solve traffic problems as it looks like it takes up half as much width as an ordinary vehicle.

Pocket projectors come for iPod

Pocket projectors are all the rage now, the ability to use a projector the size of an iPod to display information on a wall is a godsend for the business set, who look to expand the ability to make presentations without having to travel with expensive projectors or having to customize their presentations to what equipment is available. But while getting more popular, projectors like the PICO and the Mili Pro - which can connect to an iPhone or iPod Touch - are still in their infancy.

TV TrickleSaver saves money on your electrical bill

Making an attempt to be a little more eco-friendly isn’t always the easiest. Especially if you’re not overly into it, you’re just willing to pop in those energy saving bulbs when you can and shut off appliances and lights when you’re not in the room. While it’s great that you shut off the TV when it’s not in use, that still leaves the gaming consoles and DVD player up and running. With those type things they usually have lights that stay on even when it’s on standby. Well this handy gadget would help you to make sure all of that shuts down too.

Sony VRD-MC6 DVDirect DVD recorder

Sony’s back with a new DVD recorder in the form of the VRD-MC6 - the next generation multi-function DVDirect DVD recorder which is touted to transfer both high-definition and standard-definition home videos and digital photos to DVD discs without the need for a computer acting as a middleman. What makes the new VRD-MC6 model so special? While we’re going to look at it in further detail right after the jump, let me share with you an open secret - the device comes with a 2.7″ color LCD display that is handy for previewing video files, and you can also use it to check out up to half a dozen digital photos simultaneously. In addition, the wonders of modern technology and miniaturization has made it nearly 60% smaller compared to its predecessor.

Button Pinhole Video Spycam w/ Mini DVR

If you’ve got a voyeuristic streak in you, then chances are you will find the Button Pinhole Video Spycam w/ Mini DVR to be an important addition to your arsenal of weapons when it comes to recording subjects who are unaware of your filming.
This is a hidden surveillance spy camera disguised as a shirt button with a pocket sized DVR and all the necessary cables included in one complete kit. This high tech camcorder allows you to record directly onto a small mini-SD digital video recorder. The recorder includes a 2″ LCD viewing screen, so you can setup your shot and see what results to expect before you do your in-the-field recordings. In addition, this model allows you to record both color video and audio in AVI format, with 30 FPS quality. The small pinhole button camera can be DIY installed on any shirt or jacket. Included are multiple matching buttons in a variety of sizes to help you make your shirt modifications. You can even paint the buttons if needed to get a perfect match. The compact DVR recorder unit is easily concealed in a pocket.
Creepy stuff, but if you’re adamant on getting one of these, be prepared to fork out $149.99 for this device. Just hope that nobody else catches you with your pants down (literally or otherwise) using the same device when you think nobody else is looking…

The Fake Car Key Security Spy Camera

If you thought that the keychain spy camera wasn’t quite stealthy enough, this car key might work a little bit better. Just close up the key part and it would cover up all of the spots that let on that it’s actually a spy camera in disguise. Closing up the key won’t obstruct the view of the camera itself though. There’s just a small hole at the bottom of the plastic part, that no one would ever suspect is a camera.

Samsung Pixon 12

Samsung Pixon 12 appears to be raising the standard for cellular phone cameras with an LED flash, a wide-angle 28mm lens, and a whopping 12 Megapixels. I’m sure there are cellular phones with a higher number of Megapixels, but most consumer digital cameras don’t go that high.
The Pixon 12 can also record video at 30fps for a resolution of 720 x 480. The photos or video footage can be viewed with the 3.1 inch full AMOLED touchscreen. Nice.
By the way, the Pixon 12 is also an HSPA and GPRS/EDGE phone, and comes with Wi-Fi, and FM tuner, and Bluetooth. Very nice!
I’m glad that Samsung has put so much work into the cellphone camera. I know that I have said this before, but why is it that every phone has to have an obligatory camera?

Polaroid Pogo bounces in June

Looks like Polaroid has announced a ship date for the Polaroid Pogo. Or should I say month? According to Like Cool, Polaroid will ship the Pogo Instant Digital Camera next month. If you recall, the Pogo was the merging of a digital camera with the Zink portable printer. The Zink, which stood for “zero ink” prints a smudge-proof, water-resistant, fade resistant print with a no ink, heat activated process. Polaroid has been waiting for this development (pardon the pun) so they could finally get back to what their core business was … instant print pictures.

Panasonic Adds HiDef Audio to Video in the GH1

Canon made headlines with the 5D Mk. II’s ability to shoot high definition video in 1080p. This was a major development as it allowed photographers the ability to get a big movie look to the videos shot. This was because it brought lenses, shutter and aperture settings and depth of field to video. And it looked like a million. Panasonic sees the handwriting on the wall that convergence is the watchword in photography. But they’ve upped the ante to the next level with the Lumix GH1, which can not only shoot 1080p video, but it also adds Dolby digital audio to the mix, meaning photographers have a serious movie studio in their camera.

The AgfaPhoto DC-600uw Waterproof Camera can handle the outdoors

Taking a decent camera around water is always a nerve wrecking idea. Unfortunately, if you don’t take a camera, you might miss out on a lot of pictures you wish you had captured. Be it of cool underwater shots, the kids playing in the sand or various other activities while you’re near or in the water. With this AgfaPhoto camera you could get all of those pictures and not have to worry about ruining your camera.

Elecom SoundBlock Speaker comes in 10 different colors

If you enjoy the bright coloration on your iPod Nano, then you might enjoy these tiny speaker docks. The colors go along with the ones featured on the Nano, so you can match them perfectly or just pick out complimenting colors instead. Then with your other normal iPods, you’d have an accessory around that does have color, even though the iPod doesn’t.

BeoVision 4 announced

Bang & Olufsen is a well known name when it comes to super expensive audio and video products, and they stick to tradition with the latest BeoVision 4 103″ plasma display - not only is this one of the biggest plasma TVs in the market, it also comes with a luxury stand that is able to lift the screen and turn and tilt it to the optimal viewing position at the touch of a button.
The BeoVision 4 103-inch will travel on an U.S. tour for three exclusive press and customer events in New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago. The events will present the sole opportunities to experience the product in person, as it will not be on display in showrooms (each one is built to order). The New York and Los Angeles events will be hosted at The Audi Forum on May 6th and Aston Martin Beverly Hills on May 20th respectively, and will feature Sofia Coppola Champagne as the official champagne sponsor. The Chicago event will be held at the Bang & Olufsen America corporate office on June 16th.
Just in case you don’t want to mingle with the ordinary at the above-stated events, you can always head down to any Bang & Olufsen showroom and place your customized order, where you can choose from black, silver, red, blue, and dark grey colors. It takes up to four months for your order to be built and delivered, where a wall mount version will cost you $93,050 while the one with a motorized floor stand will burn a $111,805 hole in your pockets.

Moving seats in the house

Are you one of the many who are looking forward to Terminator Salvation as it hits theaters tomorrow? Well, folks who are heading towards the cinema at Mall of America in Bloomington, Minn. will experience a surprise that most other cinemas don’t have - the audience can feel as though they’re living the action on the silver screen courtesy of their own motion-activated seat.
Moviegoers will encounter gripping explosions and suspenseful fight scenes as each seat moves “in perfect sync” with the onscreen action; creating an unmatched immersive experience. With its unique, patented technology, D-BOX Motion Code uses programmed motion effects embedded and specially programmed for each film, which are sent to a motion generating system integrated in a platform or a seat. While audience members will experience motion during action sequences, the seats will remain still during quieter scenes. It also comes equipped with adjustable settings so individuals can customize the experience.
It would be interesting to see whether the movie tickets for such a cinema will experience a price increase or not, but hopefully you won’t be sitting next to someone with a full stomach when the show starts - you might end up with some less than desirable processed food on your lap once the show is halfway through.

Harman Kardon offers first Blu-ray Player

Harman Kardon has finally made their mark in the world of High Definition playback by offering the first Blu-ray Disc media player from their stables, aptly known as the Harman Kardon BDP 1. It would be interesting to see how this audio expert that has a long line of respectable products where the sound industry is concerned will tackle the video segment of Blu-ray with the BDP 1, so let us delve deeper into the system specifications and functions supported right after the jump.

“Antique” Sofa has a hide-a-bed style pool table built in

What a great idea. This is a sofa which as a pool table built into it hideabed style. Okay, actually, it’s a snooker table, but still. What an ideal addition to an apartment/mancave. According to Craziest Gadgets the couch is about 6 foot long and apparently, it’s quite popular in the UK where they’re fairly cheap.

Panasonic target Middle East market with new TVs

The Middle East oil sheikhs and super rich monarchs are certainly pretty shrewd when it comes to investing, as their practically sitting atop gold mines of different colors, giving them acces to vast riches no thanks to the world’s ever growing craving for more fuel. Knowing that many people living in the Middle East do earn more than a comfortable salary, Panasonic has targeted that geographical area in their latest effort to push across another nine LCD and eight plasma high definition VIERA TVs. These new TVs, regardless of technology behind the screen, will offer a trio of distinct advantages for the consumer, including enhanced unique features like ‘Full-time Full HD’ and VIERA Image Viewer function for the playback of pictures and videos by SD card - something Panasonic proudly touts as the first in the world within a flat panel TV context.

Brammo Enertia now available

Want to do your bit for the environment? It isn’t as hard as you might think, even for a city folk as the new Brammo Enertia electric bike is able to help you get around various blocks throughout the week without burdening our ozone layer with even more deadly emissions. This $12,000 electric vehicle is no pushover, as it comes with 18 horsepower to move you around, capable of hitting a top speed of 55 mph in the process. It takes a mere three hours to juice up fully, giving you a working 45-mile range. No idea how many people will take this up in the long run due to the relatively high price tag that can net you a nice, comfortable car, but then again being a “hero” of sorts always required some form of sacrifice, right?

Dustbot could change Sanitation as we know it

This Dustbot robot is the type of concept technology that I live to report on. European scientists have come up with a new way of removing trash in narrow streets with these wheeled guys. Clearly, Disney-Pixar was the inspiration as the Dustbot is essentially a WALL-E without the ecological apocalypse.
This new garbage collection process would start when a consumer with a bag full of trash gives the Dustbot sanitation organization a call or sends a text message. The automated system then sends the nearest Dustbot right to the user’s door, navigated via GPS.
From there, the consumer selects the type of trash he or she is disposing on the touchscreen, and put it in the drawer/compressor that comes from the Dustbot itself. I can only presume that the Dustbot goes somewhere and dumps the trash in an eco-friendly spot after that.
You may notice that the Dustbot is precariously balanced, like a Segway. So what happens when you call up a Dustbot, drop in your garbage, and then it tips over? Talk about awkward.

Bomo Baby Carriage

As a parent of a toddler, I am always looking for the latest and greatest baby products. The Bomo Robot Baby Carriage might be one that I probably wouldn’t buy, even if I could afford it.
The point of this product is to put the little baby in, and then program it to automatically follow the parental figure around the house. It can apparently “see” obstacles and navigate around them, provided they don’t move independently, like pets or older siblings.
Of course, if you want to give the baby the wheel, that is an option. Manual mode allows the tyke to hit the accelerator and use a fully functioning steering wheel. You might want to make certain the safety gate is on the stairs first.
After the baby has taken his or her joyride, its unique horizontal swing motion will help put him or her down for a nap.

MLB Scores with iPhone Baseball Fans

MLB at bat will stream live ball games to your iPhone or iPod. Batter up.
Major League Baseball has given the green light for an iPhone application which will allow live streaming of baseball games. Called MLB at bat, the application takes full advantage of the new streaming capability of the iPhone 3.0 software, will cost around $10 and will work on both the iPhone or iPod Touch

iLuv iMM153 alarm clock iPod dock

iLuv has rolled out its latest iMM153 alarm clock iPod dock that actually claims to be strong enough to wake you up from even your deepest slumber, as it includes a bed shaker to augment the buzzer, radio station and iPhone/iPod soundtracks. The LCD display on the iMM153 also comes with 10 dimmer settings alongside a 3.5mm aux input jack that allows you to hook up something other than Apple’s portable media players. If you need to go to bed with some music, however, there is the option to rely on either the FM radio station or iPod audio content. The iLuv iMM153 is compatible with iPods from the mini generation onwards to the latest models, coming in black, pink, white and blue colors for $60 a pop

The Einstein Sound Master Photon Ball iPod Dock

If you’re on the lookout for a dock, this one definitely has a little bit of that mad scientist appeal that would definitely keep life interesting. The colors within the ball on it will actually move about along with the beat of the music. Which would give a cool lighting effect while you’re listening to your favorite songs. While you’re becoming entranced with the shining bright lights, your iPod gets to sit on the dock and charge up.

Juicy Couture releases portable USB keyboard

Guys, if you ever wanted to buy your female significant other an electronic device as a gift, this is the one you’d be most likely to get away with. First I’d make sure that they aren’t anti-pink though. This keyboard not only has a very feminine look through the bubblegum pink color and the the pretty lettering, but it also is a Juicy Couture product. Giving them a chance to flaunt their female side and show off their love of brand name products.

Samsung New Touchscreen Vending Machines

While I was at CES last January, I remember seeing a very unique vending machine near the bathrooms. It was a Coke machine with a small touchscreen, and it had quite a line to it. In retrospect, I wished I had waited in line to see it up close. I didn’t stop there for two reasons: I doubted whether the soda was free and I would have spent way too much time analyzing the thing for an article.
I don’t remember the company who made the vending machine, but if I had to take a guess, I would have to say Samsung. The company has recently partnered with Kraft foods to create a new kind of vending machine with a 46-inch LCD touchscreen panel.
So there is no more entering the letter and number for selecting your snack. You just touch the snack that you want on the screen. The best part of a touchscreen display is that if you want to see the nutritional information, you just touch the proper place and there it is.

Trace of Time Concept Clock Erases Your Day

“This is your life and it’s ending one second at a time.”
I stole that line from Fight Club, but I thought it was a good enough description of the Trace of Time clock. The clock is of an interesting design, made of stainless steel with a glass face. What makes it unique is that the user can write on it with a marker.
Yes, you could probably do that on a normal analog clock, but you would have to erase it yourself. In this case, the Trace of Time clock has a hand with an integrated eraser that will wipe away the appointment after it is over.
This is a 24-hour clock with one hand. I would imagine if you started your day filling out your appointments, you could watch all of them slowly vanish as you go throughout the day

Nike Hindsight

I recently covered the Lightlane, a device that can project a bike lane for bikers. This improves bike safety, just like the new Nike Hindsight.
The Nike Hindsight are special glasses designed to increase peripheral vision on each side by 25 percent. I suppose that these will look better than the mirrors that I see on some types of biker helmets.
I don’t think mirrors are involved in making the Hindsight work. These glasses use Fresnel lenses, which are the same wide aperture and short focal length type used by lighthouses. So you could probably see what is behind you in some sort of curvy fashion, I would imagine.

Rocking Horse Cellphone Holder

Here’s another set of accessories that look as if they were created for a younger bunch, but are likely marketed towards adults or young adults. Then again those that own cellphones are getting younger and younger every year. Cellphones are even created to be marketed towards preschoolers. So perhaps these were intended for young kids. No matter what your age though, it’d be hard to deny that these rocking horses are definitely charming.

Durabook offers tough-as-nails devices

Are you a klutz, or just seem to suffer from a bad case of butter fingers regardless of whether you’re holding your own precious device or belongings of others? For folks who have experienced the pain of dropping their notebooks with a resounding crash onto the floor, might we suggest you take a look at the new Durabook range of notebooks that will definitely be drop-friendly. After all, GammaTech’s Durabook line of rugged notebooks have been certified to be Military 810F compliant by meeting and exceeding standards for drop, shock and spill resistance, and all these without compromising on features that professionals require in order to get the work done. Even better, the prices have not been raised significantly, so you’re able to get your work done without blowing the office budget.

Magellan Maestro 4700 GPS announced

There are just a handful of names when it comes to reliable GPS navigation technology, and Magellan ranks as one of them. Having said that, what can you expect from their latest solution to your navigational woes, the Magellan Maestro 4700 GPS device? This is one extremely slim device that will come with a relatively widescreen 4.7″ color touchscreen display, boasting many user-friendly features that are not only helpful but practical which we’ll look at later right after the jump. You will also find Magellan’s OneTouch user interface throw in for good measure, where it enables the user to perform advanced navigation tasks thanks to its built-in voice command capabilities and hands-free Bluetooth calling.

Swiss Army Knives get HiTech

Swiss Army Knives are always the standard in pocket knives. With high quality engineering, they are the desire of every camper and backpacker looking for a tool to use out in the wild. But sometimes, it’s a jungle out there in the workplace, but now the SwissFlash has you covered.
The SwissFlash 16GB Laser Pointer contains all the usual refinements of a Swiss Army Knife - namely the blade, nail file, screwdriver, scissor clippers, et al - but they a 32 gigabyte flash drive and laser pointer. This means that business types can not only bring their presentation on the drive, but use the pointer to provide proper emphasis as well.
Cost is a hefty $145, but how many times can you buy a piece of camping gear and have it deducted as a business expense?

ARCHOS 9 PC Tablet

I’m not certain if the UMPC (Ultra-mobile Personal Computer) market has been overshadowed by the netbook industry, but ARCHOS is making a bold move into the miniPC market with the ARCHOS 9 PCtablet.
The ARCHOS 9, presumably named for its 9 inch screen, and it is quite a piece of work. It is also very thin at just 0.63 inches, and weighs in at 22.29 ounces.
It has internal power of the Z515 Intel processor, plus Microsoft Windows 7 Operating system. It also features Bluetooth 2.1 and 802.11b/g connectivity for all email and web-surfing needs

Uchiagehanabi Brings Fireworks Indoors

For those of you who haven’t checked your calendars lately, this Saturday is the Fourth of July, that patriotic American holiday celebrated with fireworks. I’m sure most people in the U.S.A. know where they are going to spend their evenings that day, but Sega Toys Japan has figured out a way to put fireworks indoors.
This device is known as the Uchiagehanabi, and I have no idea what that translates to. It can projects the images of fireworks on the wall and the ceiling.
Some of the firework images are 1.5 meters wide, and it they have all the proper sound effects including the booms and dramatic suspense. They also have fifty-five patterns of various sizes and colors, and creative ways of making unique displays. Hopefully, you can make some very spectacular grand finales.

Supertendo DIY project rocks

Most of us would have great memories of the SNES during its heydays, with Super Mario World being one of the flagship titles that had us ranting and raving about the gameplay and graphics, while other titles that showcased the SNES’ Mode 7 capability clearly demonstrated the console’s superiority over its bitter rival, the Sega Genesis. Well, modder Marshall has done a magical job with his self-dubbed Supertendo that looked almost professional, boasting a lovely white exterior that is well crafted, holding a SNES cartridge behind with a lovely LCD display and controls all in front. You won’t find this available for sale anywhere though since this is a one-off creation, although we’re sure folks would flock to buy one if it was ever produced

The USB powered light bulb is the first of its kind

Seeing a USB powered light is nothing new, you could easily find one in pretty much any shape or size. What’s odd about this one is that it uses an actual light bulb. It actually claims to be the world’s first USB powered light that utilizes a light bulb. Typically a USB light has an LED light, which works just as well. However, if you’re tired of everything being LED, this would be a refreshing change.

Self-Portrait Machine

When I was a kid, I had to do a self-portrait in the third grade. It wasn’t a pretty good likeness of me. If I wanted to do a self-portrait now, I’m certain it would be as good.
Perhaps this is why Jen Hui Liao invented a self-portrait machine. This device is designed to take a snapshot of the user, and then it will draw a picture of you.
You might wonder how this works. I’m not certain either, but if you thought that this device comes with some robot arm to draw for you, you’re half right. There is a robot arm, but the user actually handcuffs his or her wrist to it. You might want to check out the YouTube video after the jump to see it in action.

Lotus USB Webcam with LED light

This is definitely an overly female product, I’m pretty sure there aren’t many men that could stomach having this on their desk. For that matter it would take a special breed of female to handle this bright pink flower webcam. Likely the best candidates to have one of these are the girls that still play with Barbie dolls. Which for the most part, that bunch is far too young to have a webcam. However, if you are or know a female that would adore this webcam, it’s at an affordable price

Sonos CR200 in the flesh

Folks who have been looking forward to the Sonos CR200 controller for quite some time now will be pleased to know that the device will be made available to the masses very soon after going through rigorous tests proposed by the FCC suits. This portrait-oriented controller is tipped to come with a touchscreen display that supports an on-screen QWERTY keyboard for easy navigation and typing, making it a snap to look up songs by artist, album, or titles. This certainly does away with the need for a scroll-wheel of sorts. There is no word on pricing for the Sonos CR200 though, so hopefully it won’t make you burn a bigger hole in your wallet than it should

Portable iPod Outdoor Speaker

The iPod is truly a phenomenal device, and it has spawned hundred of accessories in the past to accommodate the iPod in various circumstances, even when underwater with a waterproof case and waterproof headphones. Well, this time round we have the Portable iPod Outdoor Speaker that is not only waterproof, it is also shock and dust resistant, making it suitable for outdoor parties by the pool or even in the harsh Arabian deserts. It plays nice with the iPod Classic, Nano, Mini and Shuffle series, stowing the iPod behind a clear, watertight door while offering controls through a set of exterior buttons. A quartet of C batteries power it, but you can also hook it up to an AC or car adapter if the need arises. Sounds like $99.50 well spent, this.

The Solar Power LED Vintage Camping Lantern

When it comes to camping lighting you typically get to choose between one that requires buying batteries or the slightly more old fashioned versions that require you to light them. Well this camping light features a vintage look, so you can feel like you’re using an old lamp. However, it uses solar power to keep the LEDs burning brightly, instead of running on the same thing a vintage lamp would run on. It’s definitely the best of both worlds, old look and new technology

DIY Eco Speakers allow you to decorate and customize

There are some that are willing to pay hundreds upon hundreds of dollars to get the top of the line sound and the quality looks that go along with it. Which for them is fun, but not everyone needs that kind of a set up. Instead, it’s entirely possible to go extremely minimal with your speakers. You can now purchase a kit to create your very own DIY speakers. What makes them even better is that they’re eco-friendly

iLive Portable Music System Boom Box with iPod Dock

If you have a Nano, you likely have one of the brightly colored versions. If you do, you might want to check out iLive’s line of boom box docks. They feature bright colors to go along with the color of your Nano. Even if you don’t own a Nano, having one of these around will add a little color to your music ritual. Of course, this boom box might appeal more to the ladies than it does the guys, due to the unfortunate purse-like shape that these come in.

Pioner Elite A/V Receivers add new dimension in home entertainment

Pioneer’s back into its groove not with another GPS navigation system for vehicles or DVD/Blu-ray player, but this time round they aim to raise the bar (and seem to have done so successfully by the time you reach the end of the post) with their new range of high powered A/V receivers, where the quartet of these are targeted to enhance clarity, detail and dynamic “quick response” from uncompressed Dolby True-HD and DTS-HD Master Audio soundtracks that can be found in Blu-ray Disc entertainment.
